Took my wife's E Bike in for a flat tire repair. Picked it up the next day, paid our $39.00.
Unbelievable. Don't these guys know about the intraweb thing?
What was accomplished?
-Store manager Nick called the following afternoon. He does not want to hear of my experience at the store. He decided after his 'investigation' that his staffs are not responsible for damages on the Yamaha skybox
-I had no choice but left my phone number for the manager to call me (heard her slam hard as I walk out the door)
-Lady/staff (never gave me her name) who claims to be assistant manager denied the damages responsibilities right a way
And, they took our $39.00.
Very nice and friendly staff in sales and in service. Went in to get my board ready for the season and they did a amazing job. Called me when it was done and I picked it the next day no problems.
They obviously knew the bike was not fixed, or failed to spin the tire after fixing the flat.
Walking the bike to the parking lot, I noticed the tire was rubbing against a cable and the fender to the point where it would not spin freely.
Funny thing was, I was showing my wife the Specialized fat tire bike I was interested in while waiting.
-Got a Yamaha skybox and paid $500 with install
-Found scratches and dents
That said, the bike was fine before it came in. The flat did not occur on a ride, but in the garage.
When finding out we bought the bike at American in Madison [200 E bikes on the floor, much more variety, much better prices] the repair dudes had a very good and loud laugh and told us they could do nothing and to take it back.
Walked it back in and was told the tire was so out of shape they could not true it, and to get a new wheel where I bought it from.
I understand the hesitancy to work on a bike the staff was un-familiar with, especially something as technical as a flat tire.
We had an amazing bike buying experience at Eriks. Called ahead of time and told them which bike we were looking for, and we put a deposit down over the phone. They got the bike ready for us while we drove there. Everything was perfect and every question was answered. They did an awesome job of getting it set up. We could tell that the staff loved what they were doing and passed that joy and excitement onto us. We will definitely be going back often.
They lost a customer for life, and any potential recommendation we might make in the future.
Wouldn't ask for a better LBS (Local Bike Shop)! Love the sales staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. Purchased a bike and skis which I am very good at destroying. But thanks to the wonderful service department they get me going quickly! Definitely recommend this Erik's to anyone looking to get outdoors!
I had to enter one star to put this review so that no one but myself should have to 'deal' with such 'disrespectful' experiences!
-As a result, no refund and box
-Store was closed and went there next morning
